My brother John Keating passed away in April, he was 74. He attended Clapham College, from 1956 - 1961. He was an Alpha, in a Class with Kajik and Ostrowsk (not sure of any other class mates from that time).
John left Clapham College in 1961, and joined Lambeth Council. Where at some stage he ran into Tommy Judge. Discontented with Lambeth, in his early 20's; he went off to discover the world. Australia was the first stop. He joined the Australian Prison Service; if you joined the Army, you went to Vietnam. As a base, he travelled widely through the Pacific and Far East.
Returning home in the 80's, he joined the UK Prison Service. Wanderlust struck again. He was seconded to the Cayman Islands, to help set up a UK style Prison Service. The Caribbean was his base for tours of the Americas. Coming home, again; his mantra was, "as long as I've a Driving Licence, I can work". Ending up driving the 319 bus to Sloane Square. Thereafter he subsequently retired.
John was one of three Keating's who attended Clapham College over the years.
